A workshop delivered to Exeter University PGCE Primary students as part of the Moveable Feast’s annual Creativity Day, which brings artists from diverse disciplines to the university to introduce trainee teachers to creative methods of enhancing curriculum-based learning. The trainee teachers made rod puppets using newspaper, tissue paper and papier mache, and the fact that it was Valentine’s day dictated the theme of the afternoon’s activities. Puppets created snappy video clip profiles suitable for a web-based dating agency, then participated in a speed dating session and live puppet version of the game show, Blind Date. The day ended with the puppets showing collaboratively-devised performances on a lurve theme. (St Luke’s Campus, Exeter University, Devon, 14th February 2014)
